Kaya VagabunDOGs
VagabunDOGs heet nu Kaya VagabunDOGs, dit omdat we om bureaucratische redenen een nieuwe stichting moesten starten. Hierdoor konden we de naam niet helemaal behouden. We hebben het woord Kaya (betekent Puur) toegevoegd en dit is het resultaat geworden, Kaya VagabunDOGs. Ook praktischer omdat Kaya Dogtraining en Kaya’s VagabunDOGs dezelfde persoon zijn. Verder is alles hetzelfde gebleven, al zijn we natuurlijk al bijna 2 jaar van eigenaar verwisseld. Nu is Maaike Oostland die VagabunDOGs in handen heeft en al een mooi team om zich heen verzameld heeft.
Over ons? Maaike en haar team met vrijwilligers redden en helpen staathonden, zorgen voor rehabilitatie en zoeken vervolgens een nieuw thuis voor hen. We hebben ook een wandelgroep en een handvol vrijwilligers waar we op kunnen rekenen. We hebben ruimte voor 10 tot 15 honden (maar hebben er altijd meer dan dat haha), dus we zijn een kleine vereniging. We bestaan al ongeveer 10 jaar en hebben honderden honden weten te plaatsen bij nu hele gelukkige gezinnen! We zijn volledig non-profit en we zijn afhankelijk van donaties.
VagabunDOGs is now Kaya VagabunDOGs, this because of bureaucrating reasons, we needed to start a new asociasion and we could keep the name. Adding Kaya to it was possible so we changed the name. Also more practical because Kaya Dogtraining and Kaya’s VagabunDOGs are one and the same person. The VagabunDOGs team tough is a handfull of volunteers who make the lives of the dogs better by the day.
Who we are? We are a couple, saving dogs from the streets who are abandoned and homeless. We also have a walking group and a handfull of volunteers we can count on. We have space for 10 to 15 dogs, so we are just a small asociacion. We exist already for about 10 years and rehomed hundreds of dogs! We are completely non profit and we depend on donations.
VagabunDOGs ahora es Kaya VagabunDOGs, esto se debe a razones de burocracia. Necesitábamos comenzar una nueva asociación y podíamos mantener el nombre. Agregar a Kaya fue posible, así que cambiamos el nombre. También es más práctico porque Kaya Dogtraining y VagabunDOGs de Kaya son la misma persona. El equipo de VagabunDOGs está formado por un grupo de voluntarios/as que mejoran la vida de los perros día a día.
¿Quienes somos? Somos una pareja que vivimos salvando perros de las calles que están abandonados y sin hogar. También contamos con un grupo de caminantes y un equipo de voluntarios/as con los que podemos contar. Tenemos espacio para 10 a 15 perros, por lo que somos solo una pequeña asociación.
¡Ya existimos desde hace unos 10 años y hemos realojado a cientos de perros! Somos completamente sin fines de lucro y dependemos íntegramente de donaciones.
VagabunDOGs heisst jetzt Kaya VagabunDOGs, da wir aus bürokratischen Gründen, eine neue Stiftung starten mussten. Dadurch konnten wir den Namen leider nicht behalten. Wir haben das Wort Kaya (bedeutet Pur) hinzugefügt und das ist das Resultat, Kaya VagabunDOGs. Auch praktischer, weil Kaya Dogtraining und Kaya`s VagabunDOGs dieselben Personen sind. Seit 2 Jahren ist Kaya VagabunDOGs in den Händen von Maaike Oostland. Gemeinsam mit einigen Freiwilligen, versucht sie täglich das Leben der Hunde zu verbessern.
Über uns? Maaike und ihr Team aus Freiwilligen retten und helfen Strassenhunde, sorgen für ihre Rehabilitation und suchen anschliessend ein neues Zuhause für sie. Wir haben auch eine Gassigruppe und eine handvoll Freiwillige, auf die wir zählen können. Wir haben Platz für 10 bis 15 Hunde (aber haben eigentlich immer mehr als das haha) und sind somit ein kleiner Verein. Wir bestehen schon ungefähr 10 Jahre und haben es geschafft, hundert Hunden ein neues Zuhause zu schenken. Wir sind eine non-profit Stiftung und somit abhängig von Spenden.

Interesse in een hond of zou je willen fosteren? Bekijk onderstaande honden en neem contact met ons op! Onze honden kunnen naar Nederland, Duitsland, Belgie, Engeland en Portugal afreizen! Ook werken we met andere stichtingen samen die ons helpen met plaatsing van honden. We doen vooraf altijd een huisbezoek en met een contract. Daarnaast hanteren we ook een vast bedrag voor adoptie, afhankelijk van leeftijd en geslacht (dit ivm medische kosten van castratie).
Möchtest du einen Hund adoptieren oder zur Pflege aufnehmen? Schau dir die untenstehenden Hunde an und nehm Kontakt mit uns auf. Unsere Hunde können nach Niederlande, Deutschland, Belgien, England und Portugal vermittelt werden. Wir arbeiten auch mit anderen Stiftungen zusammen, die uns bei der Umplatzierung der Hunde helfen. Wir machen immer zuerst ein Hausbesuch bei Interesse an einem Hund. Anschliessend vereinbaren wir auch einen festen Betrag für die Adoption, abhängig von Alter und Geschlecht (v.a. bezüglich medizinischer Kosten von Kastration etc.)

I would like to introduce Brisa, this beautiful Malinois/Belgian Shepherd is a real gem! She is currently in Spain, is 1 year old, and has had a difficult background. She was removed from a home by police, where she spent almost her entire life on a short chain. She received no training, cannot (yet) play with balls or other toys, and doesn’t respond to commands. She had a wound on her ear, which we believe caused it to hang down and it no longer stands upright. She also had flat feet, but they have straightened out now and are no longer a problem. She had no muscles before, but she does now!
She walks very well on a leash and doesn’t pull. She is very affectionate but finds it a bit scary. When she wants attention, she gently boops your nose with her whole body. She is an incredibly sweet girl and loves being with people, but she is a bit nervous about being touched.
When I rescued her from this bizarre situation, she was a scared and emaciated mess, with no muscle development and very fearful. She has been with us for 3 months now. She has come into heat, which indicates that everything is functioning well in her body. She has been able to gain enough fat, although she is still a bit thin, and she has built up beautiful muscles. She now responds very well to her name and has transformed from a reactive and fearful dog into a calm Malinois. Don’t get me wrong, she still has a lot of energy! But she is more balanced now.
She now plays with a ball, although she doesn’t really know what to do with it yet. And she can sit on command. At night and when I leave, she stays in a large enclosure with a doghouse. But during the day, she is free to come in and out. She is house-trained. In the beginning, she destroyed a lot of things, like my sofa, which now has a missing corner, but lately, she doesn’t do this as often. I recommend keeping Brisa in an outdoor enclosure or crate when she is left alone, where she can’t destroy things like a sofa. She stays away from plants and such. However, be cautious of cables or chairs/sofas/cushions.
Brisa is still in Spain but is allowed to travel. The ideal owner is active, has experience with this type of breed, and is willing to do everything to make it work. She is looking for a foster home but preferably an adopter right away.
We are working hard to rehabilitate and train Brisa. She has had a blood test and is healthy! She is microchipped, has a passport, and has been sterilized.
We are open to fostering, as well as foster-to-adopt arrangements. However, Brisa will not be moved back and forth, and I need to have certainty. Brisa’s well-being is the priority, and that’s why I am looking for a dream home for her; otherwise, she won’t leave. Feel free to email or message me with any questions. A home visit will be conducted before and after, a contract must be signed, and there will be follow-up support.
