ENGLISH: Scientist discovered that sled dogs where together with humans for nearly 10.000 years. Far longer than other breeds. She also discovers major differences in nutrition for the sled dogs. They thrive on a lot of fat and protein and therefore need more than other breeds. This is because in the Alaskan Circle there are more animals such as seals and whales and belong therefor more in the diet, also for indigenous people and this is, for example, also the difference between bears and polar bears. Sled dogs (Huskies, Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Husky and Chinook) really need a cold environment to thrive. They have been WORKING with humans 10.000 years in the Arctic Circle, meaning that living in an apartment in a Mediterranean or even western European climate, isn’t really a good idea.
